CardioFit is for active participants who desire safe and effective low-impact, continuous cardiovascular workout. A variety of easy to follow movements promote heart healthy, total body conditioning improvements to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance. CardioFit is perfect for participants who are fit and active, as well as those who want an energizing activity. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are used for the strength training segment, in combination with a chair for stability, anchor and transfer support to and from the floor. The workshop includes class format objectives for combining simultaneous seated and floor work combinations, continuous low-impact aerobic choreography, smooth transitions, and sequenced movement repetitions. Risk management choreography recommendations and a variety of creative options for abdominal and flexibility conditioning are highlighted. AFAA Practical Yoga Instructor Training

The Functional Fitness Assessment workshop is for instructors and fitness center staff interested in safely and practically testing SilverSneakers participants on activities for daily living (ADL) functional abilities. The objectives of the SilverSneakers Functional Fitness Assessment are to increase participation by engaging participants in a prolonged testing period greater than eight weeks, and to measure the improvements made by the participants exercising in the Healthways’ fitness centers.
